I am so excited to present to you all my first ever cake recipe in our blog.

Christmas is the joyous occasion of sharing, caring and sweet treats! The first to come to mind is the plum cake.

But I would like to share with you all something out of the box and equally yummy!


An apple a day keeps a doctor away!!


Here I have used apples and an equal proportion of whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, powdered sugar with cinnamon, blended with apple puree, butter, oil and milk and baked with passion and love.

Apple is incredibly good for your health and is the most popular variant of fruits. The pairing of apple and cinnamon is a glorious one, making this cake exotic, irresistible and simply perfect for the dreamy holiday season! #EgglessCake #AppleCinnammonCake #NewYearSpl

Ingredients:

Dry mix :

  • Whole wheat flour - 1 cup

  • All purpose flour - 1 cup

  • Powdered sugar - 1 cup (1 cup = 200 ml )

  • Baking soda - ¼ tbsp

  • Baking powder - ½ tbsp

  • Cinnamon powder - ¼ tbsp (I have taken a spoon of ½ tbsp for measuring)


Wet mix :

  • Apple puree - 1 cup ( from 2 apples)

  • Melted butter - ½ cup (100 ml )

  • Refined oil - ¼ (cup 50 ml)

  • Skimmed milk - 1 cup


Prep work :

Preheat the oven in bake mode at 180° C for 10 minutes.

Grease the baking pan with butter and little oil and keep aside.


Meantime, Take a wide bowl sieve the wheat flour, refined flour and add powdered sugar.


Next add baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon powder and mix all the contents well.


Peel the the outer skin of the apples and remove the core part and seeds.

Blend this to a puree in mixer grinder or blender and immediately transfer to a bowl.


To this bowl with apple puree, add the melted butter, oil, milk and mix it gently.


Now add the first half of dry mix to the wet mix, mix it well and then the other half and combine all together thoroughly but gently, avoiding any clumps.


Pour this into the greased baking pan (mould of your choice) and tap it gently so that it spreads uniformly.


Keep this pan over the bake tray and bake it at 180° C for 30 minutes.

Once baking is done remove it from the oven with heat resistant gloved hands and allow down to room temperature.


Then turn the baking pan upside down and transfer it to a plate. Decorate as your wish.

I have decorated with strawberry in the centre and grated almonds along the inner heart outline to make the lovely heart shape more prominent.

Serve it warm and or cold as per your liking, dress with whipped cream or grated sugary nuts and enjoy your yummy and healthy apple cinnamon cake.


Health tips:

To boost the healthiness of this dish, I have used the apples as the main component and reduced the all purpose flour content by adding whole wheat.
