Beetroot halwa #sweet #increases exercise performance #Improves blood flow #Lowers blood pressure

Ingredients

  • Grated beetroot 3 cups

  • Milk 2 cups ( 400 ml )

  • Sugar 1/2 to 3/4 cup .. adjust accordingly

  • Ghee 4 to 5 tsp

  • Cashew, dry grapes


Cooking method



Wash the beetroots well and peel the skin, grate finely and keep aside








Ghee in pan

Add grated beetroot and sauté till raw smell leaves








Add milk and sugar

Cook well till consistency become thick








Add roasted cashews and dry grapes in 1 tsp of ghee and mix

Yummy beetroot halwa ready


Pros:-

  • Beetroot rich in fibre,carbohydrates of simple sugars,protein and very low fat .

  • Good source of vitamins:- folate and C

  • Minerals :-manganese, potassium and iron

  • Cons:- contains oxalates lead to kidney stones. So avoid in such conditions.

Nice one Ritz, it is true beetroot improves exercise performance in my personal experience,

I eat beetroot regulary for one to two weeks before my running races to help with speed, science behind this is beetroot contains nitrates, vasodilator- so improves blood circulation, makes it easier to clear up the lactic acid build up and improves exercise performance, I will try your recipe,
