Dragon shrimp / prawn fry

Hi all !

Presenting An exotic Indo Chinese shrimp/ prawn fry with great pleasure on the first anniversary of Dr.Bella's cuisine.

Prawns boast a rich and well rounded protein content, low calories and improved heart health as it is rich in omega 3 fatty acid.

This simple recipe is prepared with marinated dragon shrimp and cooked in easy steps, as shown in the video below, which I have added as an anniversary specialšŸ˜šŸŒø

Cooking time -1 hour and 10 minutes

Prep work - 40 minutes

Cooking - 30 minutes


Ingredients:

  • Dragon shrimp ( cleaned ) 1 kg approximately 14 to 15 in number.


For marination

  • Salt - 1 tsp

  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp

  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 2 tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - Ā½ tsp

  • Garam masala powder - Ā½ tsp

  • Cumin powder - Ā½ tsp

  • White pepper powder - 1 tsp

  • Black pepper powder - 1 tsp


For slurry

  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp

  • Water - 2 tbsp

  • Egg - 1

  • Curd - 1 tbsp

Other ingredients

  • Onion - 1 chopped

  • Capsicum - 1 chopped

  • Green chilli - 2 chopped

  • Garlic pods - 10 chopped

  • Cashes - 20 slitted

  • lemon juice

  • Curry leaves few

  • Sufficient oil for frying


Prep work

Remove the shells of the shrimp, devein them and rinse multiple times till it is throughly cleaned and transfer to a bowl. To this add salt, lemon juice and turmeric powder and keep aside.


Take 1 tbsp of corn flour in a small bowl and add little water to make it liquid. To this add the egg and beat well. Next add the curd and again beat well and keep aside .


Next add the ingredients mentioned for marination to the shrimps, mix nicely and then add the slurry, give a mix to it and marinate for 30 to 40 minutes.


Cooking steps:

Pour sufficient cooking oil preferably olive oil In a frying pan.


Once the oil is heated up fry the marinated shrimps over medium flame. Fry the other side by flipping it over. Place the fried shrimps in a plate covered with tissue paper. Fry the remaining shrimps in a similar way.


Take an another frying pan and add 1 Tbsp of olive oil. Once the oil is heated up add the cashew nuts and fry it till it becomes golden brown colour.


Next add the chopped onion, green chillies, and sautƩ till it becomes translucent.


Now add capsicum and sautƩ along with onions till it becomes soft.


Now add the fried shrimp one by one and give a mix and then stir it for 2 minutes.


Finally add a tsp of lemon juice, then mix gently. Season it with curry leaves and transfer to a serving bowl.


Your yummy, exotic, delicious shrimp fry is ready to gulp šŸ˜ƒ

Can be taken as a starter or along with rice and rasam.
