Spicy egg masala gravy / Boiled egg masala gravy with green peas


Hi all!! Spicy egg masala gravy is a treat for egg lovers. This mouth watering yummy dish is prepared with boiled eggs, cooked in an Indian spicy masala gravy which is highly nutritious and tasty.

Ingredients:


  • Boiled eggs - 4

  • Big Onion - 4

  • Tomato - 4

  • Green chilli - 1

  • Green peas - 2 tablespoons

  • Coriander leaves - few

  • Curry leaves - few

  • Black pepper corn - ½ tsp

  • Jeera - tsp

  • Fennel - tsp

  • Poppy seeds - ¼ tsp

  • Almonds - 4

  • Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1tsp

  • Red Chilli powder - 1tsp

  • Salt - 1tsp

  • Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp

  • Cinnamon -1 small stick

  • Cloves - 3

  • Star aniseed - 1

  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Curd - 1 tablespoon

Cooking method:


Prep work

Pour 4 cups of water in a bowl and bring it to boil. Add the eggs one by one gently and cook it for 10 minutes. Once the eggs are done, remove the shell and set it aside.


Cooking steps

Heat a pan and add 1tbsp of oil. Once the oil is hot add the jeera, fennel, poppy seeds, black pepper corns, almonds, roast them for a minute over a medium flame.


To this add the chopped onions and sauté for 2 minutes until it becomes soft and translucent.


Then add the chopped tomatoes and green chilli and sauté until it becomes soft.


Now add the ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and sauté for 2 minutes and turn off the flame.


Once the mixture cools down to room temperature, grind it in a mixie to a fine paste. Add water if necessary and set the paste aside.


Next heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of oil. Once the oil is hot, add the crushed spices (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, star aniseed).


Once it tempers add the chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves and green peas and sauté for a minute over medium flame.


Then add the paste to the pan and give it a mix. Add ½ cup of water and bring to the consistency of a gravy and cook for 2 minutes. Next add 1 tbsp of thick curd and mix gently.


Now add the slit boiled eggs one by one to the gravy, simmer it over low flame for 2 minutes and then turn off the flame.


Transfer the gravy to a serving bowl and serve hot.

Your yummy delicious spicy boiled egg masala with green peas is ready to relish. 😋

Goes well with dosa, idly, Chapathi and cooked rice.
