Hi all ! I am going to present an other healthy chutney prepared with onion, tomatoes , few lentils and cashew. This is easy to prepare and a common enough South Indian dish. Ingredients:
Onion 1 sliced
Tomatoes 2 chopped
Urad dal 1 tsp
Chana dal 1 tsp
Cashews 4
Ginger ¼ inch size
Garlic 2 pods
Tamarind 1 small gooseberry size
Red chilli 2
Coriander 2 sprigs
Cooking oil 1 tablespoon
For tempering:
Cooking oil 2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 tsp
Red chilli 1
Curry leaves 2 sprigs
Prep work :
Wash all vegetables required and remove the outer layer of onion, ginger, garlic and keep the ingredients aside.
Cooking method:
Step 1
To a heated pan add 1 tbsp oil.
Once the oil is hot add the urad dal, Chana dal, cashews and fry for a minute over a medium flame.
Now add red chilli, garlic, ginger, tamarind and fry for a minute.
Step 2:
Next add the sliced onions, coriander and sauté until it becomes translucent.
Add the chopped tomatoes and sauté until it becomes soft.
Then add salt and mix it.
Switch off the flame.
Step 3:
Once it settled to room temperature transfer this to a mixie and grind it to fine paste with just sufficient water.
Step 4:
Transfer this to a serving bowl and garnish with tempering of mustard seeds, urad dal, red chilli with curry leaves.
Your tasty healthy onion tomato chutney is ready. Serve with idli or dosa. Enjoy 😊
